I created two sites a few years ago, and haven't done much with them for a couple of years.
They want some updates, and I find I can't connect via http or ftp.
I can't ping them by name or IP, either.
I have a 4 computer network, and none of my machines can connect, not with Vista, XP or Ubuntu.
If I connect to my neighbor's unsecured wireless, I can connect.
Verizon says they're not blocking the site, and a friend was able to connect from his home.
The sites are:

www.amcyc.com

What's happening?

Have you contacted the hosting company? They'll be best to help you access the site. Someone has to be paying the hosting bill.

I'm playing phone tag with them at the moment.
What's the possibility my IP is being blocked?
I'm not sure how often Verizon changes the IP address, but I don't know another scenario where this could happen.

Try doing a nslookup from your home connection to see if the DNS server you are using is having issues resolving your two domains.

Here's the nslookup and a tracert.
It hangs at the pccwglobal every time.
I switched from Verizon's DNS to Open DNS and it didn't make a difference.

Update:
I contacted Verizon, and a few hours later the site is reachable.
Interestingly, I cannot FTP to the site, and the hosting compnay can't either, when they use their FIOS connection.
I ran an FTP test, and the server is up and accepts my user name and password, so I suspect Verizon still has a network problem of some kind. They've promised me to look into it and call back.

They probably have a routing issue somewhere in the network. I used to get a lot of these with Comcast, but so far Verizon FiOS hasn't had that issue for me.

The low level tech guy at Verizon seemed to be saying that it's not Verizon's problem, as they don't control other routers. Sounds like BS to me.
Is there a simple explanation for why http works, but not FTP?

The low level guys at any ISP don't have a clue if it deviates from their canned script. I had to get to the 3rd level of Comcast's support before I could talk to someone that actually understood what I was talking about with their routing issues.
