Question Problem connecting to network share on LAN
Hi,

This is my first post here so hello! Im currently in a tech support posititon and Ive got a problem to sort out im not too sure about. The problem is that a user can not access a share, but he can however access it through a VPN. I havnt been talking to him yet as he is overseas and ill be making a call to him in the next day or two to sort it out so unfortunately I dont know much more than this. If anyone could suggest any possible problems/solutions that I could go through with him it would be of great help! Thanks

maybe the IP of the in-house machine is blocked and when he VPN's in, he has a different IP that is not blocked? just an idea.. hard to know for sure with out more details.

Umm...dumb question, but when he VPN's in, where does he VPN to? The office where you are or into the office at his location?

When he tries to access it without the VPN connection where does he reside? in the office? at home? etc...??

The location of the server the share's on is in dublin, and he's in America. As far as I know hes accessing it from the office, and everyone else can access it normally
