Wireless Connection switches on and off
Hey...

I have a wireless network set up in my house with one desktop attached to the router (Linksys WRT54G) via wire, a downstairs computer connected wirelessly (with a compatible Linksys card) and a recently added laptop...

My wireless connection keeps switching off spontaneously and whenever I unplug my router and re-plug it, the connection comes back on only to be turned off a few hours later... It is a secure connection with a passcode...

What is the problem?

Thanks

Sounds like the router is an issue, at least that's the top suspect.

Some things you can try here.

  1. For wireless connections, change the channel on the router, I like channels 1, 6, and 11 in the US.
  2. Update the firmware to the latest version available on the manufacturer's site.
  3. Reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure.

Many times these measures will resolve a lot of intermittent issues.
