Solved: No internet with dns server
Hi i have a weird problem. i just put in a server a while back and i am just getting around to setting up a vpn that i really like so far if i could work out the few bugs with it. the problem i have is that i have to have a dns server ip address set in the property's of the connection so that it dose not sit on the logon screen for some time. that is not the problem thought when i go some where else in the world say a friends house or school they have a different internet ip address mine is 192.168.1.1 and theres is 10.0.0.1 say but most of where i go it is 192.168.1.1 how can i set it so that it can either find the ip address automatically and not take forever or set it to have more than one in there so it trys them all when i am on a different connection so that i can connect to the vpn from logon with out having to logon and change it so that i have internet to get to the vpn. anyone with any ideas would be helpfull.

Umm...I think you can set it in your network card specifically, just go back to where you would set your DNS Server statically, then u can click Advanced, and then DNS tab. There, you should be able to add in additional DNS Server's.

By the sounds of that address you are posting they get - and the symptoms (slow to find it), as far as I know it means its not finding the DHCP server - or it has an error.

I may be wrong, But I I remember rightly, In the VPN properties there should be a checkbox or simmilar saying something like
'Use remote gateway'

If there is, uncheck that.
