Prints Everywhere Else, Why Not Internet?
Hi all, hope someone can help?

I cannot print from the Internet, but can't work out why? Would be very grateful for any help.

I am running a P2P Network, Main PC uses Vista Ultimate SP1, other is XP Pro XP3, I have an HP PSC 1355 Printer as my Default Printer, which is connected to the Vista PC. Also using Network Magic to Manage the Network.

On the XP Pro PC I can print everything, via the network, I want, including Internet pages, no problems at all.

On my Vista PC I can print everything I want, except Internet Pages, and I just can't work out why. I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling Print drivers/software, also Network Magic, in all combinations. but still can't print Internet Pages. But I can print Adobe Files while on the Internet - WIERD!!!!

Any help/ideas much appreciated. Kind regards, Algypalgy.

Are you saying you can't print from IE, but anything else works? If so, it's not a printer driver issue, it's more likely an IE issue. In what application do you experience the printing issues?

Prints Everywhere Else, Why Not Internet
Many thanks John, I use IE7, if that helps. I have also trawled through all the IE7 Options, but couldn't find anything about printing!

Also checked Firewall (ZoneAlarm) and Anti-Virus (AVG8 - Free Version) settings and conldn't find anything there??

However, I will certainly check IE7 again, and would be grateful for any suggestions as to what to look for?

Kind regards, Algypalgy.

Well, you might try resetting IE7 to it's defaults and see if that has an effect.

Prints Everywhere Else, Why Not Internet
Ok John, tried that, and, unfortunately, it still doesn't work. I get the Printer Icon in the System Tray, but it doesn't show any files ready for printing. Also, when I right click the Icon I get a display that offers the choice to go to "Active Printers", when I click this nothing happens, except the Icon closes.

I should also say that the only Add-ONs installed were the MSN and Google Toolbars.

Many thanks for the advice, have you got any other ideas I could try?

Kind regards, Algypalgy

If you go to choose printers in IE, can you choose the printer in question?

GOOGLE TOOLBAR!

I have had this *** toolbar give me so many headaches. I would definitely uninstall the toolbar then try and print. I have come across some issues with google tool bar stopping email using Outlook 2K3. Once the tool bar was uninstalled, all email began to work. Don't know why it would cause email to stop, but it did. It has also stopped some of my inhouse apps to not work correctly as well.
Also make sure that Google Desktop is removed as well.
Its worth a try.

Prints Everything Else, Why Not Internet
Yes John, the printer is recognised as the default printer.

However everytime I try to print something the system tray icon shows no items ready for printing, and the offer to open "Active Printers" just closes the icon and I'm back to where I started - nothing prints on the internet except Adobe PDF files, but only after they have been opened!!

With regard to the Google Toolbar, this was imbolised when I pressed the IE7 Reset Button, and I already uninstalled it when this problem first started. This has now been reactivated.

I'm very grateful for the advice, and will keep going until I find an answer.

Kind regards, Algypalgy
