In my infinite wisdom I for some reason posted my networking problem in the hardware forum.

Here is my original post:

Hi,
While at college I got a wireless router for my room, now that I'm back home this router is sitting idle. What I would like to do, if possible, is extend my homes wireless range, particularly for my sister who has trouble picking up the signal upstairs. I was told that some routers can do this but others cannot, and I'm not sure how to check or how to go about setting it up. The wireless router that is currently working is a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router Model WRT54G v4, the idle router is a Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO Router Model F5D9230-4. Take a look at the Belkin's user manual--if you don't have it on your computer or on CD download it from Belkin's web site. Search for 'extender' and 'repeater' to help determine if it has the feature you want. If it does, then read the instructions on how to do it with that router.

I think I'd forget about the Belkin. My luck with those operating with other brands in repeater or bridge mode have been very poor!
