ralink lan card not exist
Hi there,
I was trying to install a brand new EW-7128g in my desktop. After installing the card and the driver, the "RA" logo is still black and indicates "Ralink Lan Card Not Exist". I tested the signal strength with my laptop and it's fine.
I went to "system-device manager-network adaptor" and the Ralink card is not there. Instead,it still shows the old ethernet card that has been unplugged. The PCI slot used to belong to the Realtek ethernet card that came with the desktop(it's an Acer T-135).

How could I make it to recognize the Ew-7128g?

ps: I uninstalled and re-installed everything but the problem remained the same.

Thanks much!

I think that the normal procedure is to use Device Manager to uninstall a PCI device before actually removing the card. Apparently you did not, so at least try to uninstall it now. After you get the old card successfully uninstalled from Device Manager start the installation of the new card.

I put the old card back in, updated the driver, uninstalled the driver, reboot, and it still says "Realtek" under "network adaptors".

How do I fully uninstalled previously unplugged PCI card?

Thank you so much!

Uninstall the driver; shut the PC down; physically remove the card.

If you reboot, instead of a shut down, Windows finds the card and does you the favor of installing it again.
