It's possible that a Microsoft utility differs from all the others, but with all that I've come across you don't want the XP's WZC to also be running. Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services - make sure Wireless Zero Configuration is not Started and that its Startup Type is 'disabled.'
Of course, "For years it worked well but recently ..." could simply mean that the adapter's days are numbered and it's trying to say "good bye" instead of just suddenly dying. |
