Exclamation Help: Images distorted and downloads corrupted
Hey can anyone help me.

Iv got 2 computers networked both running vista ultimate. The network works fine and i can share files with out a problem. But when browsing the internet on my computer, in both IE and Firefox about 1/4 of all images are distorted and downloads are corrupted. The other computer which is connected directly to the net is fine. Iv tried other network cords/cards as well as routers, drivers and firmware. This problem started when i upgraded the other computer to vista and if i cant solve it soon then ill have to down grade to xp :'(

Thanks in advance

Pete

Go with the computer directly to the net. When the problem exist continue, you know that the network isn't the problem. Vista is a bug, do you have the SP1 ?

Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.

What country are you located in.
Name of your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
What is the expected Upstream/Downstream speed for your ISP Connection?
Make and exact model of the broadband modem.
Make and exact model and hardware version of the router (if a separate unit).
Model numbers can usually be obtained from the label on the device.
Connection type, wired or wireless.
If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2)
Make and model of your computer.
Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP1-SP2, Vista, etc.
The Internet Browser in use, IE, Firefox, Opera, etc.

Please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.

If you're using a wireless connection, have you tried a direct connection with a cable to see if that changes the symptoms?

If there are other computers on the same network, are they experiencing the same issue, or do they function normally?

On any affected computer, I'd also like to see this:

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following commands:

PING 216.109.112.135

PING yahoo.com

NBTSTAT -n

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Location: Australia
ISP: Telstra Bigpond ISDN (Adsl currently unavailable in my area)
Up/Down: 64k/128k (last time I did a speed test it was approximately 14kbs down and 6kbs up)
Modem: Open networks NT1 Plus II
Router: D-link DI-624S Rev B (latest firmware)(Also tried a DES-1005D Switch)
The Network is wired

My computer(Pete-PC) is:
AMD X2 4200+
Abit KN9 Ultra
Nvidia 9600GT
2gb OCZ DDR2
Samsung 200gb HDD
Network is through on board Nforce network controller (Also Tried D-link Pci Ethernet card)

The other computer(Home-pc) is
AMD 3000+
ASrock 939Dual-SATA2
ATI x900pro
1gb Trend micro ddr
Maxtor 250gb hdd
Network is through on board Uli m526x Ethernet controller (Also Tried D-link Pci Ethernet card)

Both are running Vista Ultimate SP1
It occurs in Firefox v3, IE7 and Opera 9.5

The problem is only on my computer (Pete-PC) and what happens is the page will either fully load and some of the images will be distorted or it will load half the page and the rest will be just code at the bottom. But sometimes fire fox will display a coding error and then if i try to download something it will be corrupted and unable to be used.

From the speed tests you specify, I'd have to believe you have line quality issues. Hard to believe that's normal performance from that line.
