What system version and what kind of temp files? There are many utilities to do "system cleanup", but maybe you should tell us what issue you're having.

windows xp servicepack 2 .temp files means all the temporary internetfiles and whatever the files we are accessed...

Did you go into IE, Tools, Internet Options, and under the General tab there is a section called Browsing history. You can configure what gets deleted there, then press the delete button.

a good little app to have around is ATF, short for All Temp Files. Canned speech is below.

I use it on all my machines at the house, and some of the rigs here at work that are throwing multi-gig pdf and .doc files back and forth. Works great, small footprint, the only downside I've found is that it nukes your prefetch folder, thus delaying bootup by about 20 seconds or so.

There is this really cool built in feature in Windows. Its called disk cleanup. You access disk cleanup by going to programs/accessories/system tools/disk cleanup. Check all the boxes and it will cleanup the temp files and more.
