Exclamation Please HELP - beginer, with no luck
Please help, I had a dual modem/router that wasnt compatible with AOL, so I bought a new one today - Netgear DG834G v4, I managed to get both laptops connected wirelessly, but I cannot get my home pc to connect, the AOL icon (beside the clock) is saying "connection available" and my 1394 connection is saying status:connected, but I cannot get the IE to show any internet pages - i spent 45 minutes talking to someone in tech from AOL, but that was just a waste of my time - he really didnt know what he was talking about, he was reading out of a book!!!! on the netgear the power/ethernet 4/wireless/DSL and Internet lights are all on - my operating system is windows xp home edition, not sure what else you need to know - please make it "noddy proof" as I really am a novice!!!! Thanks in advance

Hi thanks for your reply, but unfortunately nothing has worked, before when I logged into the PC, the AOL icon on the right (by the clock) used to show a star and when you hovered over it - it said AOL connected, but now the icon stays blue with no star, I try to open IE, but the page times out, it says no internet connection, when I hover over the AOL icon it says connection available, when I try to log into AOL, it says ip errors, but both laptops are connected wirelessly, I purchased a wireless adapter last night, I manage to get a wireless connection for the PC, but still not a ethernet connection!! I really don't know what I have done wrong???????
