Vista is hiding from XP
Hi networking experts. Thanks in advance for your help.

I recently set up a home network with a new Vista desktop and an old XP laptop with a linkys wireless router.

The Vista computer access the files on the XP computer just fine. But the XP computer doesn't recognize any connection to the Vista at all.

Everything else works just fine on both computers. They can both access the internet just fine through the router.

I have tried disabling the firewall on both computers at that same time and that didn't work.

Anything else I should be looking for?

Thanks again.

Have a look at all the posts in the following link. The patch from Microsoft (see Charliesmomu's post) should particularly help.

So far I have never needed any patch on a XP computer for it to see or access a Vista computer. Look at all the suggestions in that post.
