Wireless network connection problem!

hi
my laptop connects fine to the internet using the ethernet connection through a shared computer...
but the problem is that it does not connect when i try connecting it through the wireless connection...i have tried changing all the wireless settings (ip adress, DNS, default gateway etc.) but somehow it just doesn't connect...i recently installed norton internet security but then uninstalled it completely..the computer shows its sending packets but does not recieve any.....

please help

What wireless connection? You're trying to set up an ad-hoc wireless connection for the ICS?

Is there a reason going "through a shared computer" instead of using a router?
