Arrow Solved: "Cannot Communicate with primary DNS Server"
I'm running Windows Vista Basic. Diagnosing the problem brings up the window "Cannot Communicate with primary DNS server (68.87.71.226)". It brings up the option "Reset the network adapter 'Wireless Network Connection'". Clicking this brings up another error with the same "Reset network adapter" option.

My father runs Windows XP and neither of us can connect to the wireless at our own home but the wireless works (for me) at school and (for him) at work. I think that we both probably have the same problem.

I brought up the Command panel and used the >ipconfig/all and this is what I got:

Hi and welcome.

Did you enter those DNS addresses yourself?

What should the DNS settings be?

@JToast- For some reason I don't see your post here. But the router is a linksys, but I don't know the model number. If the model number is supposed to be on a sticker on the back or something, I can't find it.

Try setting your laptop wireless setting to find an IP automatically. Right click on it in network settings, and be sure you aren't telling it what IP to use, and what DNS servers to use.

It was the router itself! I had to reset the physical router and then everything started working again after I rebooted my computer. Thank you!

You're welcome. Happy you figured it out If you had any security settings in the router, you'll need to reset those as well.
