Problem with EAP properties
Hello,

Due to a change in the wifi networks at my university I found out there is something wrong with my wifi settings. Previously we could connect to an unsecured network and log in through our browser, now we have to connect to a secured network but we have to adjust our security setting for this network. Apart from a very unclear how-to guide it turned out I cannot reach the properties I have to adjust.

The first step is to add the network manually in the wireless network management window and give it a WPA-2 enterprise security. When it's created I have to go to the network properties, open the security tab and open the settings for the network authentication method.

Here is where the problem pops up, I get the following error message: "Windows has encountered an error saving the EAP properties. Specific error: the module could not be found."

I have tried to google this already and found a person who had the same message but there's no conclusion.

Some background info:
- Acer Aspire 7520g laptop with windows vista sp1 (about 13 months old)
- I can connect to and use unsecured and normally secured wifi networks.
- Before this network change the secured network was already available but you had to use a securew2 program to use it. This never worked as it crashed before it installed (back then I just blamed Vista for it).
- One of the ICT guys told me there was something wrong with my windows and that I had to go back to a restore point to correct it. This I tried but apparently I didn't have a restore point old enough.
- I thought about reinstalling windows but that brought a whole lot of other problems to the surface so I'm trying to avoid that for now.

I hope someone here can help me as I don't even have a clue as to what EAP properties are (any explanation would be welcome as I would like to learn about it as well). Thanks in advance.

Marc
