Patchy connection
I'm sure a lot of people have this problem, and it's seriously killing me.

I don't normally notice it, but any time a game is loading or a song or video is buffering...it just stops. I know this is likely due to a short screwup in my connection.

What I don't know is why my internet bounces offline, then back on or how to fix it. I'm hoping I just need to put filters on all my phone jacks, which will be done shortly.

Please help, as I have run out of reliable sources.

I also have a wireless router, if that makes a difference.

If you are using DSL and don't have filters on ALL the phone equipment EXCEPT the DSL modem, that's an obvious first step!

Does this mean to apply a filter to just the phone equipment and not the DSL modem?

Yes, the DSL modem should NOT have a filter between it and the phone line! There are "special" filters that have two jacks, one for the phone and one for the modem, but the DSL jack should be clearly marked if you have one of those.
