vista- not able to identify wireless networks
vista keeps turning off my wireless capabilities and it wont recognize any wireless networks now. this is happening while I'm connected to my wireless network, it says "connected with limited access" and then when I try and reconnect it doesnt show ANY wireless networks. this has happened before and I could click "diagnose and repair" which would say "wireless capabilities turned off" and give me the option to "turn wireless capabilities on". Now it still gives me that option but does not remedy the problem. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Try going into cmd and than typing ipconfig /renew. If that doesn't work try ipconfig /release and than ipconfig /renew

Are you sure the wireless is turned on? There's usually either a switch on the side of the laptop or a function sequence to turn it on.

Let's see this for the machine.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
