Solved: limited connectivity
Hey ive just got a second hand computer from a family member, and had it put in my bedroom. my computer downstairs works perfectly off of my modem ( im getting a router 2moro ) but when i put my modem into my computer upstairs the computer says it has 'limited or no connectivity' and when i try to repair the connection it says that i can't renew the ip address, so wat the hell is wrong with it, and how do i fix it ? The internet runs through an ethernet adaptor in the mains plug to get upstairs, but i dont think this is the problem as the ethernet adaptor works fine at getting my Xbox 360 onto live. im new to this kind of thing so if yu could respond in as simple terms as possible it would be appreciated. thank you in advance

is you xbox connected directly to a socket and the PC on an extension lead
I have seen issues with these mains delivered devices that do not work via an extension lead,... not sur ewhy - but have proved it a couple of times at mates houses

do you have all the drivers on the PC for the modem .

I think we need to know EXACTLY what we're dealing with.

What's this "Ethernet Adapter" you speak of? Are you talking about a powerline network device? What's the exact make/model?
