Terribly annoying DMZ issue with Belkin Wireless N router..
Hi all, my first post here on these forums:

I've been reading around, and haven't been able to find anything regarding this problem. Lately, I've been trying to put my PS3 into DMZ mode through my wireless router. After doing so, I've noticed that the internet connection on all of my other wireless and wired devices on my network lose internet connectivity.

I'm currently running a Belkin Wireless N F5D8233-4 router and I have 2 notebooks, an iPod Touch, iPhone, and 3 other desktops all on my network. Obviously, I can't sacrifice my internet connection for my entire family just so I can play PS3 effortlessly. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is this a known bug?

Any responses will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, everyone!

Try just opening the specific ports on the router.

Try the following.

  1. Update the firmware to the latest version available on the manufacturer's site.
  2. Reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure.

Using DMZ should NOT kill all the other connections, I have it configured here, and the other connections work fine.

I've read around some more, and I've found a few more people having the same exact issue with the router that I've got. It's very frustrating.

There are no current firmware updates. The one that I got out of the box is the current version.

It's just annoying to forward single ports because I can't open up a port range, I have to open each one individually.

So, anyone else with any ideas?

Have you tried the factory default reset?
If you have done that and tried forwarding the ports manually, then it's probably a defect in the router.

See post #3 in this thread. There's no need to ask the same thing over and over.

But I didn't see in any of his posts that he actually tried resetting it to factory default settings.
