Solved: Wireless Network Times Out Wireless Router: Linksys WRT54G2
Encryption: WEP
I had just got my HDMI cables and new monitor for my PS3 and hooked everything up. Everything was working fine: I could go online on my PC, and then change the monitor input and be online on my PS3.
In the morning, however, I could not connect to the wireless network with my PC or PS3. In Windows it just times out on the first step. Testing the internet connection in the PS3 fails on the first step as well. My landlord (who owns the router) said that he could not get on the internet either.
After uninstalling and reinstalling my wireless adapter (D-Link DWA-552) in my PC, all the saved network settings were gone, and instead of just timing out when trying to connect to the network, it then gave an error message after a few seconds. The message was something like "Windows cannot connect to the wireless network." After entering the setting and key for the network, it went back to just timing out trying to connect.
Any ideas would be appreciated. |
