"cannot connect with primary DNS"
I was on my laptop on campus, I switched buildings, and suddenly my wireless internet wouldn't work, I got the dreaded cannot connect with primary dns error.

I tried looking through the forms, such as using OpenDNS, but that didn't work. I'm currently connected through a hardwire on the same laptop (Which works just fine), but when I disable that device and try to connect to the internet, I get that error.

When I try to use ipconfig /renew all or /release all I get the error "This operation has failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation"

I've done all the resets at least one (netsh winsock reset)

I'm also on vista.

I don't know the command to copy and save all of my ipconfig /all files, otherwise I'd post it.

When I find out, should I disconnect the hard-wired ethernet and do it with just the wireless running, or should I have both running?

Strange to see a public IP address on a wireless connection, but otherwise it looks good. FWIW I can reach (ping) that DNS server. Let's try ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following commands:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

ping 139.135.198.55 (or whatever your IP is now)

ping 139.135.198.1 (or whatever your Default Gateway is now)

ping 139.135.10.14 (or whatever your first DNS server is now)

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.
