Who is your ISP? What is the brand and model of your modem?

Do you remember to power cycle (unplug for 30 seconds) the modem when switching the computer connected to it?

After a proper power cycle please show for one Windows computer ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

You've only answered the first line of my post. Where's the rest?

What are the LEDs on the modem telling you (on, off, color, steady or flashing)?

You may have done the ipconfig /all but it is not in your post. Maybe some pieces of it, but a lot is missing. Please try again after doing the following repairs (if I correctly guessed your OS).

(From a JohnWill post)

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2 or SP3.

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reboot the machine.
