Solved: wireless sharing...
I decided to use my home pc as a sever for the house we have three computers and well I am going to add a slave drive which am going to allow anyone in the house to dump stuff...

Only I though it would be really simple... but as always... it isnt as simple as I though...

Can anyone explain an easy way to make a shared file that every computer in the house can see... where on a wireless network to... Al have windows xp home...

Any help would really be apprechated! thanks!

The easy way is to use the Shared Documents folder that is built into windows.

But it sounds as if you want to a single drive that everyone can store stuff on. I think what you want to do is what I do. I share the D drive on my main computer witch is my data drive where I store, documents, photos, videos, music, etc. Then I just mapped the network drive to each computer so it appears in windows explorer as a local drive and the users don't even know the differnce. You can google drive sharing and mapping if you need to know who to do it.

well at minute I don't have the slave drive installed... to be honest I just at the minute would like to be able to see the shared folder I created on my pc that would be a start and I have read up how to get a hole drive seen... obviously if I can't even get a single folder on my current drive then I wont be able to do that...

Basically any help on how to get my shared folder to be seen by other computers would be a start. As at minute my laptop can't see my computer and my computer cant see my laptop and on both I have created a shared file done what it said... and still nothing...

I was thinking maybe its because where connected through a router... but this should not make a difference... should it...

Not sure what to do?
