Red face Solved: XP/Vista WLAN Sharing Issues
Hi All,
My network is comprised of a ADSL 2+ router, and 3 satellite notebooks. As the router is out of reach at the other end of the house it is not connected directly to any computer. One laptop is from my workplace and is set up for the Intranet / Internet settings (Laptop 2 running XP Pro). The other main laptop is my personal one and is Laptop 1 running Vista home Premium. The final laptop (3) is an ancient brick running XP Home. This computer has no integrated wireless and has an external USB wireless dongle.
I have a USB printer in yet another room and was finding it a pain to have to move backwards and forwards, plug in, print, etc. etc. So I plugged in Laptop 3 installed the printer, shared it and attempted to get it to show up on the other two laptops. I simply cannot get the other two to find the printer, or for a matter of fact anything else on that computer. I figure that laptop 2's problem is the way it is set up for work but I can't figure out the Vista. I know that Vista and XP have issues but I did everything I could find to fix it but it wouldn't work.
Thanks

I realized that the two work groups were different thus my problem. It works fine now.
