Exclamation Solved: Windows to KVM to Linux which needs web
I have a Windows XP system which is connected to the router, a Linksys KVM2KIT switch and a Linux system. Should I be able to access the web from the Linux sys in this configuration? If so do I need to enter the MAC address of the Windows sys to do so? Help, I am excited to see how well the Linux sys works!

That switch does not affect the networking portion. It allows you to switch your keyboard/video/mouse (hence the name KVM) from your PC to your Linux machine. It's useful if you have only one set of K/V/M and 2 computers.

Now if you wanted a switch to allow both machines to access your network/internet, then you would need something like this.

I just use a switch similar to above for my two systems that are on a KVM, works fine.

Hee hee as I was falling asleep last night, after I posted this, I realized that I had not plugged ANY networking cable at all into the Linux sys. DUH!!! Exhaustion and electronic troubleshooting seem to just cause more trouble. Thank you for your helpfulness ;]

I have just posted a thread concerning the wrong resolution on my Linux system. I was playing around w/ the resolution settings and it is now so blown out that I cannot navigate to correct the issue. Perhaps you might know keyboard commands that I might use to fix this? Can I reset the OS back to default setting from the Failsafe Terminal?
