WPN824 v2 HELP
One of our laptops went dead (cord/plug issues) so I took out my Dell. I need to connect the WPN824 v2 Netgear wireless router to the computer but the Installation CD is missing. I have tried to log in to the 192.168.1.1 (saying it takes to long to log in) website and to the www.routerlogin.net site. (will not take the admin and password default or what I changed the password too. Please help. I just want to get this router connected to my computer ASAP.

Reset the router to factory defaults, then you can login using the defaults from the manual and do the configuration.

I have opened the router page and set up the router, but when I go to disconnect the ethernet cord to use my laptop as a wireless, my laptop does not connect. I opened Network connections and there is not a broadband or wireless connection. Only LAN connection.

That's a problem, you are probably missing the drivers for the wireless adapter.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type devmgmt.msc

Please respond to all the following steps.
  1. Under Network adapters, please tell me all the devices listed.
  2. Are there any devices under Network adapters that have a red x displayed?
  3. Also, are there any devices anywhere in the Device Manager display with yellow ? or ! displayed?
