When I set up a broadband connection provided by my Internet Service Povider, the connection is okay but after that when I go to open any internet application ( such as- Internet Explorer, Gtalk, Mozilla Firefox, Google chrome etc) the computer hangs. Even the task manager can not be opened and I have to turn of the CPU.
Then I formatted my computer and re-installed XP SP-3 and it worked fine, I mean, the internet applications were working fine but as there were some problems in the video and audio drivers.o I had to format again and reinstall. After that any internet application refused to work and my computer hangs whenever I go on to open any internet application.
I have installed Internet Explorer 7.

Plz help me, I need to get out of this problem as I have to work real hard in the internet.

You said after first re-installation it worked but later it didn't. I cannot pin-point the problem but it seems there is a problem in networking part of Windows. Why not try to repair Windows from its setup disc?

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2/SP3.

Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands:

Note: Type only the text in bold for the following commands.

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults, type: netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults, type: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reboot the machine.
Remember: Data you don't have at least two copies of is data you don't care about.
