Exclamation Laptop and PS3 won't conect to wireless network
I am on our main computer (The one with the router and modem).

My laptop and PS3 were both conected our wireless network.

For the last couple of weeks, my PS3 has been dropping out of connection, and getting "connection inturruptions". My laptop has always connected fine.

A couple of days ago, my PS3 would not connect at all and neither would my laptop.

We have a NETGEAR WGR614v6 router and a WG111v2 USB adapter for my laptop.

This computer runs on vista and my laptop runs on xp.

I would try a couple of basic things.
Do a router reset.Hold the reset button in for at least 15 seconds.
Change the wireless channel being used.
(1/6/11 in US)

it may be someone else has arouter which is interfering, simple changing channels on the wireless section of the router may help, use channel 1 or 6 or 11

also try turning everything off
switch on the modem and wait
switch on the router and wait
now turn on the PC
now turn on laptop and PS3 and see if they connect

the next step will be to use ipconfig /all and post the results here

ipconfig /all

TWO Methods to do that - some people have problems with ONE----

ONE ---------------------------------
start
run
cmd
ipconfig /all

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

TWO -----------------------------------------------

Start, Run, CMD to open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

Some things you can try here, listed in the order you should try them.
  1. For wireless connections, change the channel on the router, I like channels 1, 6, and 11 in the US.
  2. For wireless connections, try moving either the wireless router/AP or the wireless computer. Even a couple of feet will sometimes make a big difference.
  3. Update the network drivers (wired and wireless) on your computer to the latest available.
  4. Update the firmware to the latest version available on the manufacturer's site.
  5. Reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure.

Many times these measures will resolve a lot of intermittent issues.
