When I run "Diagnose connection problems" it tells me to turn my router off and back on, which doesn't help.
I'm not sure what else to try.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Should I log on wirelessly from my Mac and change the channel? Do you know how I can find the address to log on to it?
Thanks for the help.

If the host is connected, there's either something amiss in the virtual software / system configuration, or a simple Windows problem. | | Senior Member with 184 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2001 Location: OKC, OK | | Quote:

Not sure how to troubleshoot the simple Windows problem. Is there a protocol for this.

Just updated to the new version 2.0.5. The problem started a few days ago before I updated. I didn't have any trouble early in the day. Then later I couldn't connect at all. As part of my trouble shooting I have been on the VMWare site. Found the new version and thought it might help. Didn't make a difference.

#10 | I don't have any experience with virtualization on Macs, but I've used various such applications in Windows. Check the network settings for the virtual system. Are you using NAT? Bridged? Something else? What does IPCONFIG look like? | | Senior Member with 184 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2001 Location: OKC, OK |

#11 | VMWare settings gives me a list of icons. One of them is Network. When I open that there is no network (or anything else listed). If I hit "Add new item" the only option it gives me is "Add new Shared folder". Nothing at all about internet or wireless connections.
2yrs ago I graduated from an ancient laptop running Win98 to my Mac. I swear when I set up my virtual machine I didn't have to do anything. I just installed windows, hit the IE icon and BAM - I was connected. Never a hitch until the other day. Now I can't figure out what in the world happened. Since I didn't have to do anything to set the network up in the first place I'm at a loss to figure out how to get it back.
Oh, Yeah - NAT, Bridged, and IPCONFIG are terms I've never heard. I'm reading about them, but I'm afraid I'm at the baby steps level here.
Thanks

#12 | If there are no network options, then the virtual software isn't recognizing your computer's network adapter. Since you're not having network problems on the host computer, the problem must be with the VMWare software. You might try reinstalling it or posting in a VMWare forum. | | Senior Member with 184 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2001 Location: OKC, OK |

At least that gives me something to go on.
