IE8 Freezes, connection icons missing
Hi,
I am not sure if I am in the right place with this post because I am not sure what the exact problem is.

When I try to open IE8, it freezes before it even gets to home page.

If I boot in safe mode with networking, I can access internet, so obviously it's connected.

But also, the connection icons are missing from the tool bar/tray at bottom.

I have ran and installed Windows updates.

Have checked all the networking connection stuff based on other posts.

This is a desktop computer, running XP.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me as to what the problem is and how to fix it?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Truthfully, I'd uninstall IE8 and do a fresh installation and see if that makes it's mind right.
