 | Junior Member with 5 posts. | | | | Vista 64 bit getting very slow internet connection Bought a new dv6 hp pavilion laptop with vista 64 bit, and having very slow connection speeds through my router (DSL 504T) to the internet and other pcs on the network. Read on some forums that rolling back the drivers wuld work, but cos its a new laptop, there are no drivers to roll back to.
Another solution suggested was to disable "Advanced Networking Service" in the services.msc startup. Unfortunately, there is no such thing listed in the services..... :S please help!
Any suggestions wuld be much appreciated | | Distinguished Member with 3,030 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2001 Location: Avalon,Catalina Island,Ca. did that work?
ah yes! it did
Yepu, the first link is only for american servers XD
oo btw, in addition, i know this might be irrelevant, but copying data from my USB to the laptop goes at 10 MB/s. Quick! o.O

but the transfer speed between pcs is something like 25 Kb/s
surely thats not right? there must be some options in "services" or "startup" that prevent this from speeding up. | | Distinguished Member with 3,030 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2001 Location: Avalon,Catalina Island,Ca. Jazzy,as John said that d/l speed is not that great, but what bandwidth(speed) are you paying for.? | | Moderator with 96,644 posts. | | Join Date: Oct 2002 Location: South Eastern PA, USA Experience: Advanced age & experience | | Try booting the new machine in Safe Mode with Networking and see what transfer speed you get.
How are you measuring the transfer speed between machines? | | Junior Member with 5 posts. | | |
