Post Netgear Super-G DG834GT connection problems?
I recently bought a Netgear Super-G DG834GT wireless modem/router off ebay and upon plugging it in and setting it up to the best of my ability, it says I am connected with an excellent connection (I can get this on both my desktop PC and my laptop), however I can't actually view any web pages or anything when I go on firefox or IE.

I've had a read of various pages on the internet to try and solve the issue but I can't seem to find anything, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

On the advice of someone on possibly this forum, I typed in "ipconfig /all >"%userprofile%"\desktop\ipconfig.txt" and got this:

might be of some help to someone out there. Anything else that might help me along the way to successful wireless internet would be really helpful.

Thanks,
Tom

My guess is you need to configure the WAN (ISP side) connection, perhaps with your DSL account name/password at least. You are connecting to the router, but I'll bet the router is not connected to the ISP.

Okay, how would I go about doing this? Is it something I need to do in the settings of the modem (by going to 192.168.0.1) ?

all you need to do is to reconfigure yung router.

If you have username and password from your Internet Service Provider(ISP) you need to use that.

Just Like this,

Does Your Internet Connection Require A Login? Yes No
If yes click the YES button

then in the Internet Service Provider dropdown list you choose OTHER instead of PPTP

Internet Service Provider PPTP Telstra Bigpond Other Login Password Service Name (If Required) Connection Mode Always On Dial on Demand Manually Connect Idle Timeout (In minutes)

Hope this help.
