Laptop losing wireless connection
Running Windows Vista
Gateway ML6732
The globe doesn't disappear from the network icon,
however every once in a while all of my IM programs sign out and I can't access web pages for one to two minutes. Anybody have a solution? I can give more information if anyone needs it.
Thanks

Please show for when you do not have internet access and then again for when you do ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

I can access the internet, but my laptop just drops the connection. Sometimes it happens every half hour, sometimes it'll only happen once a night. It never stays disconnected long, just anywhere from two to five minutes, and always fixes itself. It's not a major problem, just annoying.
Thanks in advance.

I'm still waiting for you to tell us if that ipconfig /all is for when you do or do not have internet access, and for the other ipconfig /all.

That's when I do have internet access. Sorry, I didn't know that you needed it when it was out too. Next time it goes out, I'll run it again.

Okay, so when I run the IP config when I'm booted, it comes up exactly the same. And this tends to happen only when Bittorrent is running. Any ideas?
