Wireless Problem
I have successfully been using NETGEAR WPN824v3 for a couple years with no problem. I have used it with 2 different service providers. About 1-1/2 weeks ago, my internet signal dropped down and my wireless stopped working. The internet was still working slowly IF I disconnected the wireless router. We had the service provider check and he replaced the cable coming from the hook-up in to the house to the modem. The signal seems to be fine now but I cannot get the router to work. It tells me something about the network card is not correct. I did not change anything.

richiesmommy,

From a TerryNet post.

Please show for the computer when trying to connect wireless...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following commands:

nbtstat -n

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

Some other things to check.

This one will be quick since your browser is open.

Click on Tools.
Click Internet Options.
Select the Connections Tab.
Nothing should be entered in the Dialup and VON settings box.
Never Dial a connection should be selected.

In the LOcan Area Netwrok settings box at the bottom of the page, click the LAN settings button.
"Automatically detect settings" should be checked.
Click OK and OK

Right click on the Wireless icon on the tray .
Select "Open netwoerk connections".
Right click on the "Wireless Network Connection" and select "Properties" at the bottom of the menu.
On the General tab, click "Internet Prorocol (TCP/IP) in the box to highlight it.
Click the "Properties" button below the box.
On the General tab, make sure Obtain IP Address and Obtain DNS Server Adress automatically" are checked.
Click OK and OK.
