Unhappy Compaq xp laptop to thomsom router
i've had a computer with internet connection for a while now, but the whole family share it. So my mom got me and my sister a laptop
i've a little card for the cardbus, and i enetered my username and password into the LEAP thingy and scanned, found my device... ect, and it shows excellent connection on that thing in my sistym tray, i hover over it and it says "authentication failed" (sp?).

i went round my friends, and i brought my laptop and he connected it to there router, my internet worked fine! i dont know how he did it, and when i rang and asked, he told me to enter my password and username, wich i did and it didnt work! when he did it he used soem kind of cable, it was yellow?

please help! x

btw its a PCMCIA card

You appear to have 802.1x authentication enabled.

In the wireless network properties, make sure you have unchecked that option.

What is the version and patch level of Windows?
