Whats the best modem & router to buy to use with comcast services
I currently rent a modem from comcast now I am ready to save some money and buy my own. Which modem is the best to buy and can you also reccomend a dependable router to work with it.

unless it has changed since i had comcast a little over 1 year ago, then cable modem is yours and is already included in your bill without any additional money per month, however the money comes if you want them to provide the router, when i had comcast i used the good ole cheap linksys WRT54G been working for about 2 years now with no problems, and completely secure

Actually, Comcast charges you rent for the modem around here.

I'd shop for any major brand modem, and I'd also make sure it includes DOCSIS 3.0 capability, since that may be coming down the pike at some point. Motorola or Toshiba are ones I've had personal experience with, both of them worked well for me.

Any decent router will do the trick, I like the D-Link DNS-615 for an inexpensive 802.11n router. Mine has worked well for me here.
