You go to www.HP.com and find your machine in the support section, you need the chipset drivers, video drivers, and the network drivers.

D/l, install and run the free program www.belarc/com. This will tell you everything on your computer, brands, models serial numbers, key licenses etc. Then you will know which of the dirvers you will need.

Follow this from JohnWill' earlier post. HP can tell you what was originally installed on this computer and you can get your drivers from there.

Turn the laptop over and read the EXACT model from the label on the bottom. That's the first step.

We need to know EXACTLY the description of the wireless adapter from Device Manager.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type devmgmt.msc

Please respond to all the following steps.
  1. Under Network adapters, please tell me all the devices listed.
  2. Are there any devices under Network adapters that have a red x displayed?
  3. Also, are there any devices anywhere in the Device Manager display with yellow ? or ! displayed?

Question Need WIRELESS NETWORK ADAPTER please
Hi firstly thankyou to all the people that have helped me so far on here. its a great site and friendly and helpful people.

anyway i have put a post below on help needed. everything on my laptop has now had drivers put on but the ONLY thing that i need now is a WIRELESS NETWORK ADAPTER. I know i had one before i formatted it because my laptop worked with internet without cable. but now its gone.

All i have in my network adapter section in device manager is the:

realtek family rtl8139 family ethenet nic but NO wireless network adapter.

it says one not found so How do i re install wireless network adapter is there a driver or anything for it. i have a dv4ooo hp pavillion dv4302ea model. IF you look at my post previous on help needed please all my laptop details are on there.
it is driving me mad now lol so please can anyone help me on getting my laptop back on the internet WITHOUT the cable please please lol
