Solved: No wireless after reset
I have a netgear WGT624 3v wireless router. I have been reading about people have there info stolen when they don't have there wireless router inciped. I went to the netgear web site and got more info on what i need to. I got to my router page but it needed a password that I don't know. It wouldn't take the defalt pass, so it say toerset the router. I did and now I can't even get to the router page and not wireless I had to hadr wire to the cable modem just to get help. what do I do. I am running windows 7.

if you reset the router - it should return to factory defaults and allow you to log in.
are you sure you reset the router correctly
Not looked at the manual - but there should be a button at the back you push in (or a hole where you need to push ) to reset and hold in for 10sec or more .......

You posted 982.168.1.1. however, I would expect that address to actually be
192.168.1.1
but I would need to look the manual up - do that now

and to log in from an internet explorer window

enter admin
for password

that should log you in
Its quite possible in V3 its a different IPnumber - i'll need tolook online for that manual

I had a miss type but the manual tell me the same you have said ,but I can't seem to get back to the router page. the only way i can communicate with u is by unplugging the router and going direct form the cable box.

I just tried your 192. 198.0.1 with the router connected and I got this page (192.168.1.3) is managing this device. If is type is (192.168.1.3) it time out and I get nothing. I will try with the router disconnected.

Have you reset until TEST Led turns on
Quote:
To restore the factory default configuration settings without knowing the administration password
or IP address, you must use the Default Reset button on the rear panel of the router.
1. Press and hold the Default Reset button until the Test LED turns on (about 10 seconds).
2. Release the Default Reset button and wait for the router to reboot.
