No internet acces, only local
Ever since i installed windows vista service pack 2 the other day my computer refuses to connect to the internet. Tried uninstalling the service pack since i thought it was at fault, when that didnt work i got myself a windows 7 ultimate since i'm pretty sure my hardware is not at fault. I've had my p5n-d for about 3 months and i would really hate if my network adapter suddenly died.

Ipconfig gives me

Ethernet adapter local area connection :

Connection specific DNS Suffix . :
Link-Local IPv6 adress . . . . . . : fe80::8db3:f4b3:ae22:c853%11
Autoconfiguration IPv4 adress . : 169.254.200.83
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . . :

Tunnel Adapter isatp.<2B28BC9D-DD4D-4DB3-A7A0-80C7571BA015>:

Media state . . . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected
Connection specific DNS Suffix . :

So, any ideas? or is my card busted?

One thing you can try is to download Ubuntu CD, and simply boot it in the ailing machine. This should find any working network adapters and allow you to connect. If it does, the hardware is probably fine. There is no installation required, just boot the CD.
