Theres a ghost in my internet!!! Random Disconnects
Now that i got your attention. I'll be surfing the net when suddenly i'll start getting server can't connect, or my connection icon will say cable unplugged or no connection. This happens all the time and is pretty random. I then disable and re-enable the connection then diagnose it until it starts working again. I also reset the cable modem and restart the computer. Even though 5-10 minutes later it will do it again. Sometimes it'll go an hour without doing this but it happens all the time and it is very frustrating.

I want to find out what is causing it and prevent it in the future. All help is appreciated. I gave the info i think may be useful if you need anything else let me know.

Windows 7
Firefox
Comcast ISP
connected by cable modem
Nvidia nForce 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet

Register at DSLReports and run their Line Quality Tests. It's best to run this test with a direct wired connection to eliminate any wireless issues from the results. It's useful many times to run this test several times, and we'd like to see each of the results. Post the results link from the top of the test display page for each test run here.

The link to post is near the top of the page and looks like:

If you wish to post this result to a forum, please copy/paste this URL
http://www.dslreports.com/linequality/nil/2357195 <- sample only, yours will obviously be different!
and your IP will be disguised.

Copy/paste that link here.

Note: You will have to enable PING (ICMP) request response either in your router (if you have one), or in your computer's firewall for direct modem connections. This is very important to get the most important part of the test to run.

DSLReports

Here's also the Line Quality Tests FAQ to help you understand the results. This will answer some questions about the line quality display.

Didn't see the link, but that sure shows a problem! You have terrible line quality.

Boot in Safe Mode with Networking, and run the test a couple of times and post those results here. I'd like to eliminate as much of your software configuration as possible.
