Solved: wireless acting strange
im writing this fast, because my internet could fall away again any second

my wireless switches off and on all the time
i can keep it up for 10 minutes, by unchecking "automatically configure wireless network" just when it is on
it constantly toggles between "connected (max speed/connectity)" and off every 4 or 5 seconds

how can i fix this?

im using wireless-g pci adapter
and a wireless-g linksys box connected to my KPN experia box
the other box provides best connection

sorry the description is so vague

ask if u need more information

can you connect the PC to the router with a cable, so you do not lose the internet
any way can you do the ipconfig and pings below - when its working and repeat when fails, post in seperate replies and mark so we know which is which

Also post the light status on router and modem when working and when failed

it maybe interference on the wireless - changing channel may help - log into the router and wireless section change the channel to 1 or 6 or 11

{ipconfig /all}
We would like to see the results from ipconfig /all

-> Start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all
post back the results here

TWO Methods to do that - if you cannot access the internet with PC, then use method 2 to copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post results here

Method ONE -------------------------------------------------------------
start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Method TWO -------------------------------------------------------------

Start> Run {search bar in Vista}> CMD to open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
{Ping Tests}
Start> Run {search bar in Vista}> CMD to open a DOS window and type:

Ping google.com
Post back the results

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Ping 209.191.93.53
post back results

need to understand what kit you have

OK, so hamachi is a VPN service - what happens if you are not using VPN and just the internet.... do you still lose connection, or do you only lose connection when VPN in use ?

DHCP ingeschakeld:. . . . . . . . : nee

does that mean enabled or disabled - yes or no

OK thanks for the pings -
So what I would be looking for is when it disconnects if you can still ping the number but not the name

other way around

see if you can connect to IP but not to google

That would mean a DNS server issue -

if you type 74.125.53.100 into a web browser you should see google open - so thats a good test if internet is working but appears disconnected

i think it could also be the network
its the wireless connection that disappears and reappears
and with that also my internet, because i get my internet through the wireless network.

OK - lets see what happens on the ipconfig and the Pings when lost
and note the lights on router/modem when working and compare if different when fails
