How to Configure Bridge and Router
Hello, first time poster here. I searched the internet and couldn't find a definitive answer to my question so I thought I'd post here.

Here is my current configuration:

WD WorldBook connected to Linkysys WRT310N Router. Three computers access the router (and WorldBook) wirelessly. No internet connection to the router (and no hardwired connection is possible).

I would like to connect my Linksys Router to a wireless internet connection that can then be shared among my computers. Do I just need to connect a Bridge to the router that would access the wireless internet connection?

Thank you for your help.

You need an ISP that will provide an internet service to your home, Via Cable, Telephone or satellite

Do you have an ISP in the home ?
Why can you not get one supplied?

Hi etaf, thanks for the response.

The network is set up in an RV. We encounter WIFI access at campgrounds, relative's homes, etc. that we would like to connect to. So, we would essentially use the bridge to connect to these WIFI hotspots and feed that to our existing LAN.

Do I have the setup right?

Thanks again.

You need to make sure that this is allowed in the campgrounds - they may NOT allow a network to be connected in client mode - especially if they charge for each connection....

Yes, a wireless bridge is what you want. You'll find out quickly whether it works with any given network. For example, to use my area's library free Wi-Fi your browser is redirected to a page where you have to pledge allegiance to their terms of use. So, I couldn't get a bridge working with that one.

Thank you, TerryNet. Makes sense.
