Kodak ESP9 vs. DIR-615
I have a wireless network that consists of three laptops, 1 desktop, DSL Internet connection, a Dell 966 and Kodak ESP9 printer. The netwrok is identified by all equipment, however, the two printers are unable to join the netwrok. I have typed in the proper SSID and Network Key in the configuration data on both printers. However, they still are unable to conncet to the wireless network. It is strange that they recognize the wireless network, but cannot connect. After checking to make sure I had no typos in the SSID and the Network Key, I still end with the result of printers unable to connect. After checking with both D-Liink and Kodak customer support, they both claim it is the others configuration problem. SO I am stuck between to proprietary philosophies. Anyone have some ideas? Any and all are greatly appreciated! Thanks I have include my email for responses:

Unless you like tons of SPAM, you don't want to put your email address in your posts! In addition, we keep all the assistance in the forums here, so I've removed the email address.

Have you tried connecting the printers with a wired connection? FWIW, I have an HP C7280 wired/wireless printer, and I found the wireless reliability to suck, mine is wired to the network and never misses a beat. You don't move printers around like laptops, why not just wire them?

Have you tried connecting with encryption disabled?

What type of encryption and key are you using?

Thanks for taking my email off line. Both printers work well when I connect using wires. The problem I see is having the router recognized both printers as clients and accepting them through the access point.

I have treied connecting withour the encryption and the problem is still there. I am using the WAP - AES encryption with a 8-digit key. After resetting the router three times and using three different encryption keys, the problem remains. Kodak says the problem is with the router, and Dlink says the problem is with the printer. So, I am stuck.

You're not using any kind of MAC Address filtering or access control on the router, are you?

I hope that's WPA not WAP.

I really can't see this being the router, there's nothing there that should affect the connection.

Yes its WPA. When the printer is turned on, it searches for the wireless network, finds it, and then after I type in the SSID and entry password, the printer responds by saying "cannot connect to Network". Both the router and the printer are fairly new as in 1 month old.

Make sure you don't have MAC filtering enabled on the router.

Next, try it with no encryption and see if it's a problem that the printer is having with AES. Perhaps try WPA/TK-IP instead if that's the case.
