Unhappy disconnection(s) from internet connection
I am operating with windows XP (sp3). My internet connection is via a sagem adsl modem. Recently my internet connection drops off, the funny thing is that whilst the broadband status indicates that I am still connected, there appears to be a time lag the site to which I am connected becomes unavailable I then get the indication that there is an automatic reconnection (which works) if I click on "info" on reconnection info bar it indicates no information available (so I do not get an error number). I must also say that I do less frequently get an error 721 disconnect. My ISP is tiscali,with whom I have been in touch, but so far nothing practical from them. They have recently been taken over by another provider talk talk and I was wondering if there is any (dare I say) connection!!. The Modem checks out OK suggestionsand the lights remain on. So rather flummoxed. Would welcome (yet again) help and advice on how to overcome this problem. Again my sincere thanks for suggestions. Bristolian

I have moved to netwroking forum
you get a better response there

also can you do the following when its all connected OK and repeat when it disconnects -make sure you label which is which

{ipconfig /all}
We would like to see the results from ipconfig /all

-> Start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all
post back the results here

TWO Methods to do that - if you cannot access the internet with PC, then use method 2 to copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post results here

Method ONE -------------------------------------------------------------
start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Method TWO -------------------------------------------------------------

Start> Run {search bar in Vista}> CMD to open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

{Ping Tests}
Start> Run {search bar in Vista}> CMD to open a DOS window and type:

Ping google.com
Post back the results

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Ping 209.191.93.53
post back results
