Today everything has been running fine. At the moment I have taken Network Magic off the laptop, we can still share files using my network places, just that it is easier with network magic.

Will mark as solved even though not really sure what caused the problem, gut feeling is bad connections on the router.

Would like a new router, just not sure what to get. D Link, Linksy etc all easily available here.
