Solved: Connected to wireless internet but can't browse the internet
Hello everyone,

I set up my new O2 wireless box yesterday, wireless internet was working fine for an hour and then...stopped working??!
All lights on the 02 box are correct,my laptop says I'm connected to wireless internet and the signalis excellent, but I have lots of paquets sent and O received.
I uninstalled my firewall (Zonealarm) then I disabled Windows firewall too, nothing changed.

Anybody who could help?

Thanks a lot!

can you connect to the router by a cable
make and model of the router would be useful

{ipconfig /all}
We would like to see the results from ipconfig /all

-> Start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all
post back the results here

TWO Methods to do that - if you cannot access the internet with PC, then use method 2 to copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post results here

Method ONE -------------------------------------------------------------
start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Method TWO -------------------------------------------------------------

Start> Run {search bar in Vista}> CMD to open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

{Ping Tests}
Start> Run {search bar in Vista}> CMD to open a DOS window and type:

Ping google.com
Post back the results

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Ping 209.191.93.53
post back results

wireless light is amber,not blinking.
(i think there's nothing wrong with the wireless or the connection but more about my laptop settings?)
all the other lights are green, the ethernet one blinking (=in activity)

Yes the information I posted is when machine connected by cable.
No other machine connected wirelessly.

I' m going to download your program and I come back!

lets see the program output screen display first?

to take the secruity off you need to log into the router, wireless section , and remove encryption/secruity - should see a dropdown or something with WPA, WEP, Disable on - i'll look at the manual after we have seen the wireless screen shot

so we can see the O2 is being broadcast

and you can detect it with the PC - so we just need to work out why you cannot connect

I wonder if zonealarm has uninstalled correctly

If you click on connect
and try to connect to the wireless what happens?

That's what I was trying to explain,I am connected right now to the wireless, all the time actually, and it says signal excellent etc
only problem:
paquets sent:148
paquets received: 0

shall i try to turn off the wep encryption thing? but if i do,my connection won't be securised??

Oh,and it was not working before I uninstalled Zonealarm.
basically: Yesterday, set up the wireless box for the first time, wireless worked fine, then an hour later stopped working.
Turned off the box for the night.
this morning, turned it on,re-tried the set up 02 cd and OH wireless was working great!
an hour later,didnt worked anymore.
If i turn it off now, maybe it will work again??

You should turn off encryption to get it working, then enable it after we get basic wireless working. You should also remove all the stored wireless network profiles and search for the network again.
