Cant find wireless network
Ok I have a Lenovo Laptop that has windows xp professional on it, At home i can detect and connect to several wireless networks, but when I brought it to my Girlfriends house it is unable to detect her wireless network. She has her laptop and 3 other pcs connected to her wireless network.

Im not sure if the problem is with my laptop or with her network settings. Any help would be appreciated and if you need more info please let me know what it is and ill try to find it as I am at her house right now

Install Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector and do a scan for available networks at the GF's house, see if it finds her network.

I will try it

Will Xirrus interfere with anything on my computer?

That's not a good sign. Does it see other wireless networks?

How about posting a screen shot here?

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to TSG, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.

Unfortunately i cant post a screen shot becuase i don't have internet on the laptop and the person whose usb stick I was borrowing left. My laptop does detect another network in the area but its a secure network and its not my girlfriends network.

Could there be an issue with her network thats keeping it from being seen by my laptop?

She could have the router's SSID broadcast disabled. Or, possibly, using an encryption (such as WPA2 only) that your adapter does not support.
