Hi etaf,

I'm running Bitdefender 2010.

In the firewall settings under network it shows you 2 sections - network configuration and adapter/zones areas.

In the adapter/zones section it showed Local Area Connection 2 and Wireless Network Connection.

Now before during all these problems I was adding the printers ip address to the Wireless Network Connection to be allowed and this is where it failed.

Just for the heck of it, I thought I'd try adding the printers ip address to the Local Area Connection and bingo it worked!

But I dont understand why?
As I'm printing wirelessly, surely the printers ip address should be allowed under the Wireless Network Connection?

I hope this makes sense?
If you like I could send a screenshot?

not sure I know the difference between a wireless network connection and a local netwrok connection as far as the network is concerned, I would have thought they are just devices with IP address on the network,
so without a detailed understanding of what bitdefender means by
Local Area Connection 2 and Wireless Network Connection, I dont know ...

Nor me!
I think they're adapter zones that are by definition safe zones within Bitdefender?
Many thanks again for all your assistance.
