hi dezaras,

thank u very much for your info. I've taken all your advice into consideration and spent sometime looking at the setup. I have rearranged the setup in the diagram. Please note that i have taken out the VOIP for now and may implement at a later stage. Take a look and please let me know if you can further improve on this setup:-

Also since i'm planning to connect a file server directly to the media pc, will any network storage device be okay for playing 1080p movies?

there a lots of network storage options to choose from, shop around and see what fits your price range. you should have more than sufficient bandwidth with a wired connection to play 1080 movies from the storage device. what you now have showing is pretty much exactly how i would do it.

Thanks very much dezaras.

I only have one issue mate...with a HDTV, Sky Satellite box, Cable TV, Amp, A PC, A router, A NAS, I will end up with loads and loads of wiring and i need something that will allow me to make it more cleaner. Trucking is not needed as there is no need for wiring to go on the wall...this is wiring coming from the plugs and from each device and i need an item which has to available in uk to make the job neater.

this is the one I have seen used a few times

I would suggest keeping power and signal leads seperate

thanks etaf...i've already looked at that, but its not enough as roughly there are 20-30 cable from all those appliances going to and from each other and the one you have shown can only handle roughly 2-3 cables max. Any other suggestions would be welcome.

in that case I would probably use cable ties , you can also get velcro cable ties
or look at some platic trunking from an electrical wholesalers - the square trunking has a clip of side - which I have run along a room before now.
