Solved: Connection is connected but "disconnects" after sometime
Ok this is a little hard to explain, I have been experiencing this problem for about 3 weeks now.
My problem is that under the Local Area Connection Status, everything is working fine and I am able to access internet connections and all but after about 30 mins - 1 hour+ It will "disconnects"
The thing is, it seems that my Local Area Connection is still active but when I try to access the internet, such as MSN, Mozilla, IE, etc etc. Everything just disconnects.
I have tried the "Repair" on the Local Area Connection but it is stuck on "Renewing IP Address"
The only way to get back my connection was to disable it and re-enable it or restart.

Note: The Local Area Connection is still working even after everything such as msn or mozilla disconnects.

Here is my IPCONFIG/ALL

Please try to keep it simple @_@ I'm not really good with hardware/software
Thank you everyone for trying to help me ^^ If things start to get confusing, I'll be asking my sister / brother-in-law to assist me [ That will probably take a few days ]

we would also like to see some ping test (see below) as well as the ipconfig /all

If you do the ping test when its all working ok
and then repeat the ipconfig and ping tests when it disconnects (past the results into some thing like notepad so you dont lose them when you try to reconnect)

Ping google.com
Post back the results

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Ping 209.191.93.53
post back results

you still have an IP to the router - lets see if it can actually see it , when it disconnects

when it disconnects
Ping the router

ping 192.168.1.1

you have no connection to the router , although it still has an IP - I notice that changed from
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.101
to
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.102
I suspect you switch off as its over two days

I would be interested in the ipconfig /all when its working and then without switching off or rebooting the PC
when it disconnects seeing the ipconfig /all again

Do you have any other PCs connected to the router at all???

I would have alook and update to the latest driver for your PC , whats the make and model of PC
may need a firmware upgrade on the router
Reset the router and reconfigure the settings - so make a note of the settings before you reset

Ok, but because the router and the com are owned by my sister, I'll need her help so it might take sometime.

Once I'm done with it I'll reply back ^^

1 Laptop and 1 PC connected to the router through wireless. Both are working fine.

as johnwill says - looks like a good IP connection
But none of the three Pings i listed above work
ping 192.168.1.1
ping 209.191.93.53
ping google.com

But two other PCs connected wirelessly are working fine when this one disconnects
And this is the only one connected by cable

Can you try this cable on a different PC, to see if that disconnects at all - maybe a cable or router issue

can you disable the firewall completely on the machine and see if that helps

I wonder if that TAP VPN Adapter could be causing this. You might want to remove that for a test.

Can be caused by various types of corruption. Try the following in whatever order you like.

If you have a non-Windows security application (firewall, security suite, anti-virus, etc.) uninstall it. If there is a cleanup or Removal tool for it use that also. You can reinstall the security application after testing.

Use Device Manager to uninstall your ethernet controller; reboot and let Windows discover the adapter and reinstall the driver.

(From a JohnWill post)

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2 or SP3.

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reboot the machine.

TAP VPN Adapter
TAP VPN Adapter - Packet Scheduler Miniport
TAP VPN Adapter - Symantec Network Security Miniport

I'm thinking it's the 2nd one but I want to confirm it before it causes anymore problems =.=

Tried TCP/IP Stack repair and the problem still exist.

I'd uninstall the VPN software and make sure ALL of those are gone.
